What do we do?

  • We provide support, both material and intellectual, for indie filmmakers looking to create work that speaks to who they are and how they see the world.

  • We maintain an up-to-date network of local crew positions most often used in narrative work: AD, Scripty, HMU, COVID Compliance, etc.

  • Consulting on location management, gear rental, budget planning for shorts, SAG and payroll paperwork, crowdfunding, Covid Compliance, and more.

  • Borrow any and all of our production support supplies at no charge, as long as you return everything with at least one additional item contribution. See what we have available on our gear page.

It must be sunny at night and snowy in August. Great things end, small things endure.

We don't need better cameras to make better movies, we need a better way of making movies. The days of auteur directors are over, we all know the more credit a director gets, the less the world sees the entire team behind them that made it happen.

Grand Rapids is home to some incredible filmmakers in so many departments, but it remains socially fractured. We hope to be a small part of solving that problem by providing support, both material and intellectual, for indie filmmakers looking to create work that speaks to who they are and how they see the world.

We’re here for the people who want to be good at their craft but know that good is often a long way down the road. We’re here for the people who’ve fallen for the cheap film festival scams, and those who haven’t yet.

Short films are often a calling card to something bigger, but you still have to make it into a good card that stands on its own. There are plenty of online tutorials for people just starting out or aiming to get into Sundance; what if you’re in between those places and simply want to make something better than your last project?

That’s where we come in. Think of it as a film community co-op. Think of it as help. Think of it as a start to creating a better way.
